Role Description

The Head of Studio is responsible for overseeing the technical aspects of studios that are operated in a live dealer casino environment and running related technical operations in compliance with global regulations, policies, and procedures by maintaining and developing strong teams. 

The ideal candidate will have the responsibility and authority for all studio builds, including the setup, maintenance and operating of broadcasting equipment, related infrastructure, and software systems, as well as building, training, and development of the teams. The candidate will foster high employee morale and good patron relations, all in accordance with established policies and practices. 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and direction to studio engineers, technicians, and R&D teams by setting clear expectations, objectives, and priorities to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
  • Ensure continuous communication flow within the teams and with other departments.
  • Manage studio and related technology builds including the design, development, prototype testing, manufacturing, and implementation.
  • Oversee the procurement and maintenance of studio equipment, tools, and materials as applicable to support continuous and smooth functioning of the studios.
  • Lead studio setup, solution design, R&D and technological improvement projects from their inception to delivery in existing and new locations as applicable.
  • Guarantee all employees comply with policies and procedures including occupational health and safety guidelines to ensure that security, confidentiality, and control are maintained.
  • Plan, monitor, appraise and review contributions of the teams, and keep track of teams’ retention to ensure an optimum resource allocation for a smooth operation in studios.
  • Prepare periodic performance analysis, devise action plans for improvements, and manage their successful execution.
  • Direct response and resolution of incidents pertaining to studio setups and technologies.
  • Develop and maintain internal documentation (manuals, procedures, regulations etc.) for the department.
  • Continuously research competitors, new technologies and propose improvements to keep abreast with the developments in the industry.
  • Forecast, budget, and track the department’s costs to achieve accuracy of spending and adherence to the budget.
  • Carry out any other adhoc duties that might be required from time to time according to the company’s exigencies.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience in live dealer casinos, with at least 5 years in a senior managerial role in studio engineering, real-time streaming and/or broadcasting.
  • Proven track record of setting up live casino studios from physical and technical perspective. 
  • Experience setting up technical operations and supporting functions for live casino studios. 
  • Deep understanding of real-time streaming technologies, integrations, and setups. 
  • Hands-on experience with R&D activities in AV, lighting, and broadcasting. 
  • Experience with green screen technology implementation. 
  • Good knowledge of live casino products and related technologies. 
  • Able to work in a high-paced, complex, and changing environment and prioritise effectively. 
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills. 
  • Strong problem solving and decision-making ability. 
  • Good knowledge of gaming regulations and compliance standards. 
  • Good financial acumen and budget management skills.
